Last year’s campaign was an important one. When we started, no one gave us a chance. On the day I announced, very few people took our candidacy seriously. By the time Election Day rolled around, that had changed.
Thanks to the help and support of you and many others, we were able to conduct an aggressive direct mail campaign. We had a strong television and radio presence. And we had a strong social media presence.
Even though we came up short on Election Day, we had turned heads in Columbus, Bladen and Robeson Counties. Thanks to your help, those who didn’t give us a chance at the beginning took our campaign very seriously at the end. Imagine how things might have turned out if more people had joined our team on day one!
With that said, I wanted you to be among the first to know that I’m seriously considering another run for N.C. House in 2016. With your help, we can finish what we started last year.
I still believe that we need more small business owners in Raleigh. Like so many of you, I am a small business owner. I grew up in Columbus County, and I’ve had to work hard and earn every dime I’ve ever made. My life lessons came from the school of hard knocks, and I know how to stretch a dollar to get the most value possible. That’s the kind of mentality we need in the State House.
Like you, I believe in the free market. I believe in the ingenuity of a free people. I understand the importance of agriculture and transportation infrastructure to our rural economy in southeastern North Carolina. And I believe that they are worth fighting for.
I will fight every day to ensure that state government is effective, efficient, transparent and responsive. And I will fight to ensure that we have a seat at the table.
Thank you for visiting my website. I look forward to working with you in the months to come.
