It’s Official: I’m in the Race for 2016
After prayerful consideration, consultation with Angela, and in-depth conversations with a number of trusted advisors, I officially filed as a candidate for N.C. House of Representatives in District 46 on December 3, 2015. With your help, we will finish what we started in 2014.
As you know, District 46 includes all of Columbus County and portions of Bladen and Robeson Counties. This is a largely rural district – one where people work hard to earn a living, and one where agriculture is still an important part of the economy. Unfortunately, the three counties in our district are all among the counties with the highest unemployment rates in the state.
That brings me to one of the reasons I have decided to run again: we need more business-minded voices in Raleigh. We need people who understand what it means to take a risk, open up a business, and meet a payroll. We also need common-sense conservative voices from rural areas. When elected, I will be that voice.
You and I live in a great corner of North Carolina. I was born and raised in Tabor City. This is where Angela and I are raising our daughters, Savannah-Grace and Ella. This is where I am in business. This is home.
We live in a great area, but we have fallen behind some of our neighboring counties. That’s why we need new, strong, business-minded leadership.
As your State Representative, I will fight every day to ensure that we have a seat at the table and are not forgotten when our state’s leaders are recruiting industries to North Carolina. I will push to ensure that rural areas like ours are not left out of the state’s transportation plans. I will roll up my sleeves every day and work hard to fight for our counties and ensure that this area continues to be one that I am proud to call home.
I can’t do this alone. I respectfully ask for your support, your vote, your assistance and your prayers as we move forward.
