Statement on Rep. Ken Waddell’s retirement

November 9, 2015

Brenden Jones, candidate for N.C. House, issued the following statement upon learning of Rep. Ken Waddell’s announcement that he would retire at the end of this term:

“Rep. Ken Waddell announced this weekend that he will not seek re-election in 2016. Please join Angela and I in thanking Rep. Waddell for his service to our community and state. While we may have had policy disagreements, Rep. Waddell’s love for Columbus County is obvious.

“Some time ago I announced that I plan to seek the House seat next year. Those plans remain intact, and we will campaign hard to earn the right to represent Columbus, Robeson and Bladen Counties in Raleigh. I look forward to speaking with citizens throughout the region over the next year.”
